Pony.ai, Sinotrans, SANY Group form smart logistics strategic alliance
Shanghai (Gasgoo)– Pony.ai, a leading global autonomous driving technology company, announced on Nov. 1 it has cemented the cooperation with its two partners—Sinotrans Limited and SANY Group to build a tripartite strategic alliance dedicated to boosting the smart logistics development with technologies, vehicles, and scenarios integrated.
Through the beefed-up collaboration, the three parties will make full use of their respective resources and advantages in the high-level autonomous driving, the development and volume production of high-end intelligent heavy-duty trucks, and smart logistics to promote the transition of logistics industry regarding safety, efficiency, intelligence, and environmental friendliness.
Pony.ai has built a joint venture with both Sinotrans and SANY Heavy Truck, a subsidiary of SANY Group, respectively. The latest move will allow the three companies to co-work on building the industry’s first fleet primarily composed of intelligent heavy-duty trucks and offering smart logistics solutions.
In the meantime, the first batch of intelligent heavy-duty trucks produced by the joint venture between Pony.ai and SANY Heavy Truck rolled off the production line while the partnership being stepped up, and was delivered to the smart logistics joint venture Pony.ai built with Sinotrans.
Under the agreement signed for the new strategic alliance, the three firms will join hands to develop premium intelligent heavy-duty trucks with greater safety, reliability, and environmental friendliness, which are expected for small-scale volume production this year and large-scale production in 2024.
In addition, all parties will explore the full-process coordinated management and intelligent dispatching of a smart logistics platform, so as to greatly enhance safety and efficiency, and lower costs and carbon emissions.
